Astronaut Scholars Honor Society (ASHS)

Background

The Astronaut Scholars Honor Society (ASHS) is the non-profit alumni organization for recipients of the Astronaut Scholarship awarded by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) External Link. Members of the Astronaut Scholars Honor Society are current and past recipients of the Astronaut Scholarship, which is an award granted to outstanding undergraduate and graduate level students in science and engineering at selected colleges and universities in the United States.

The ASHS has been formed by the Astronaut Scholarship recipients (aka Astronaut Scholars) to be an organization through which they can work together to perform educational outreach services to younger students, challenge people of all ages to enhance their knowledge of technical subjects, and exchange information among themselves about research, inventions, and other technical topics to enhance career development and strengthen America's position in science and technology.

These goals will be accomplished by the ASHS through operation of events such as technical conferences in which research and technology presentations are made, science fairs, and technical competitions such as mathematics contests and space trivia contests.
